West Kelowna City Council says it will close the Shannon Lake-Bartley-Stevens intersection next week for road paving and the next steps of the roundabout facility.
The closure will run from May 30 to June 4.
The city says the Shannon Lake Road and Juliann Road diversions will remain in place as equipment completes road paving and the formation and pouring of the concrete sidewalk and travel platform.
Drivers are advised to follow the speed limits on detours and work areas.
Emergency services, traffic and the school bus service will remain at the intersection during this phase of work until the end of the project.
After completing the inner circle, the Shannon Lake-Bartley-Stevens intersection will reopen to the public, with minor periodic delays until the end of July to complete the boulevard and landscaping works.
The Shannon Lake-Bartley-Stevens project also includes transportation improvements to the Shannon Lake Corridor.
Improvements include widening of sidewalks and bike lanes east of Shannon Lake Road, and improvements to bike lanes and sidewalks east of Dominion Road to Westlake Road.
The entire project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022.
