The White House corrects Joe Biden’s suggestion that he has cancer

Joe Biden erroneously referred to Glasgow as part of England and seemed to suggest that he currently has cancer, forcing a quick clarification from the White House, in the last public joke of the President of the United States.

Mr Biden caused immediate confusion when he appeared to say, “That’s why I, and so many people I grew up with, have cancer” during a speech on climate change on Wednesday.

While Biden used the present tense, White House officials said the president was referring to his previous treatment for skin cancer.

Biden Undersecretary of Press Andrew Bates noted in his 2021 health examination that he noted his treatment for “several localized non-melanoma skin cancers,” which he had removed before taking office.

However, Mr. Biden’s comments were widely mocked by Republicans who have taken advantage of each of the 79-year-old man’s usual verbal errors as proof of his sickly mental acuity.
