A window on the ground floor was destroyed a few hours after a man was threatened with a “machete.”
Merseyside police have asked for any information following a report that a man was threatened and a window was broken. Emergency services rushed to Talton Road in Wavertree around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 after it was reported that a man was standing outside a townhouse holding what residents described as a machete. .
The man holding the machete was reportedly threatening another man inside the house. A large police presence, including the armed police, closed the road and an investigation into the incident was launched.

Less than four hours later, around 8:05 p.m., officers were called back to the same property to report that a ground-floor window had been broken with a wooden plank. No one was reported injured in either incident.
Merseyside police are currently examining CCTV in the area and speaking to witnesses. No arrests have been made so far.
Detective Inspector Cath Cox said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victim and they are receiving the full support of our officers. Fortunately they were not injured, but they were shocked by the incident.
“We will not allow people to carry weapons and use them to cause fear and threaten others in our communities, and our work to take the knives out of our streets and get people ready to take them to court. Every day of the year we conduct open searches, orders and searches to locate knives and ensure that those who store, carry and use them are brought to justice.
“Helping the public is vital to ensuring that we can target our business exactly where people in our communities tell us there are problems. If you were in the Talton Road area on Thursday and saw something or someone suspicious, please go ahead. Similarly, if you are driving around the area and have images from the dashboard camera, check them out and if you see anything, let us know.
“Tell us what you know about this incident and we will take positive action to remove from our streets those who use weapons to cause fear and harm to our communities.”
