One of the best parts of Cyberpunk 2077 is Night City itself, a noisy and colorful place full of interesting details and decorations. I explored a lot of loads on foot, explored more with the mod adding trains that V can travel, and today I explored even more with a mod adding cars. It’s very cool and I’ve only crashed a hundred times.
On the normal CP2077, the NPC hovercars move, but V is stuck to the ground with a wheeled transport. With Jack Humbert’s Let There Be Flight mod, all cars and bikes (at least from what I’ve found) get the ability to float. With the push of a button, the wheels are replaced by directional jets, which allow V to climb into the sky and zoom. I wouldn’t say I’m good at flying under any of the available flight models (flying and drone), but I really enjoyed zooming through Night City, picking up some scratches and dents along the way.
Yes, it also works with motorcycles.
I barely drove anywhere when I first played Cyberpunk 2077, instead I ran on foot to drink the atmosphere, run down alleys and park on rooftops (like Siobhán Casey). I grew up with Judge Dredd’s Mega-City One and exploring the night city is the closest I’ve come so far. So the train mod I tried last year was a new way to see more, and that’s even better.
Download the mod from GitHub. I would recommend the “packaged” version, which includes all the other bits on which this mod is based to work. Simply unzip it in your Cyberpunk folder and head to heaven.
The first trial version of the mod came out in December, and now it catches my attention in beta via YouTuber “LastKnownMeal”.
