Thor: Love and Thunder is already in theaters around the world, takes us to the fourth solo adventure of Asgardian Avenger and claims its place as the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Director Taika Waititi, who previously directed Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, brings his comic touch to another superhero release (and his two post-credits scenes).
The film catches up with Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) after the events of Avengers: Endgame, in which he decided to join the Guardians of the Galaxy. He also reunites with the old flame Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who has been empowered by his old hammer Mjolnir and has become the Mighty Thor, as they face the creepy threat of Gorr, the butcher of God (Christian Bale).
Once you’ve made your head at the end of the film and its other delicious cameo, it’s time to turn your enchanted hammer and jump on the SPOILERS for the mid- and post-credits scenes.
An avenging god
In the media scene, it is revealed that Zeus (Russell Crowe) survived after Thor shot the Greek god’s own lightning through his chest. Given his throne, Zeus expresses his fury because people now worship superheroes above the gods.
“They will scare us again when they see Thor Odinson fall from the sky,” he says bitterly. “Do you understand me, Hercules? Do you understand me, my son?”

Introducing the MCU Hercules (Brett Goldstein, Ted Lasso’s Loving Roy Kent).
“Yes father,” he growled.
What means?
Marvel’s Hercules introduced himself to comics as Thor’s rival in the 1960s, but later became his ally and joined the Avengers. He has appeared regularly over the decades since his debut, occasionally starring in his own series. Herc is a bit of a braggart, but a reliable friend of his fellow heroes.
Hercules has starred in several comic book series since the 1960s, but usually appears as a supporting character.

The character was first seen as an idiot of the time-traveling villain Immortus, but it was later revealed that this version was an impostor, mostly because it didn’t really match his later characterization and because “impostor” is a classic comic. explanation of these discrepancies.
Immortus partially inspired the villain of Loki He Who Remains, which was an alternate reality version of the future villain of MCU Kang. Since movies and programs regularly refer to classic comic stories, it is possible that Hercules joins Kang in his quest to end Thor.
Regardless, Hercules and Thor are likely to become allies at some point in the future: Goldstein is simply too popular and adorable to remain evil.
He is also the second Ted Lasso actor to make a recent cameo in the post-MCU credits scene. Cristo Fernández, best known for playing Dani “Football is Life” Rojas in the Apple TV Plus series, appeared in one of the additional scenes of Spider-Man: No Way Home last December.
Life after death
As Thor struggled to keep Gorr from reaching almighty eternity and wished all the gods were exterminated, Jane gave up her cancer treatment to catch Mjolnir one last time and went to his aid. The heroic duet managed to convince Gorr to abandon her genocidal campaign, but she lost the battle against the disease soon after.
Heimdall returns to the post-Love and Thunder credits vision for life beyond Asgard.

The post-credits scene reunites us with Jane after her death, as she walks through a portal and finds herself in a beautiful mountainous place. He is greeted by Heimdall (Idris Elba), the all-seeing guardian of the Bifrost Bridge in Asgard who was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
“You are very welcome here in the land of the gods,” he says warmly. “Welcome to Valhalla.”
What means?
Valhalla, the sky of Asgard inspired by Norse mythology, was mentioned earlier in the film. When Thor meets a wounded Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) after his encounter with Gorr, he urges her to let her die so he can go to Valhalla. Thor reminds him that he would only go there if he died in battle, so he agrees to go to New Asgard and put on pieces.
When Jane dies in Thor’s (huge) arms after the final fight with Gorr, she disintegrates into star dust as did Odin (Anthony Hopkins) in Thor: Ragnarok, implying that she had been accepted as an Asgardian. despite being born human.
This may mean that Jane will be allowed to rest among the other fallen gods in the afterlife and that we will not see her again (especially because going back to Portman, Elba and Hopkins would be expensive). Still, the post-MCU credits scenes are often used to set up future plots, and Jane’s comic counterpart became a Valkyrie after Mighty Thor concluded.
Jane’s comic superhero career led her to become Valkyrie.
Marvel Comics
At MCU, this group of elite female warriors was killed in battle with the death goddess Hela. King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) was the only survivor. In comics and Norse mythology, Valkyries guide those who fall in battle at Valhalla, so that their MCU counterparts may have had a similar purpose: Ultimately, Jane could join her ranks. .
Valhalla is also probably only one dimension in the MCU, and it is possible to travel to and from it, as the multiverse opened at the end of Loki’s season. That way, Jane and Thor could be reunited.
Could Loki be in the Valhalla?
The original MCU Loki is dead, after being killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (what we followed in the Disney Plus series was an alternate variant of the timeline). Since OG Loki was killed in battle, he should have been rewarded with a happy eternity in Valhalla.
It is also possible that the original version of the character is not dead, as the older Loki classic, a variant of another timeline, seen in the Disney Plus series, revealed that he had tricked Thanos with a super realistic projection. . After that, he lived alone on a remote planet “for a very, very long time.”
Loki’s classic timeline diverged from the main one when he left the remote world to see Thor. This suggests that the usual version of the character remained isolated, so he may not have reached Valhalla after all.
