Three injured in a plane crash at Miami International Airport

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade firefighters quickly used white foam to extinguish a landing plane set on fire Tuesday at Miami International Airport.

Three of the 126 people on board RED Air SRL 203 suffered minor injuries, according to Greg Chin, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

Red Air SRL 203 left Punta Caucedo, Dominican Republic at 3:36 p.m., and landed at 5:38 p.m., 42 minutes late, according to FlightAware.

The Miami-Dade Fire Department sent about two dozen units. A surveillance camera showed dark smoke shortly after 5:45 p.m., near 57th Northwest Avenue.

Chin said at least two flights were delayed due to the fire.
