The winner of the Serie A, Tiemoue Bakayoko, has been arrested at gunpoint by police in Italy, in a terrible test that turned into a case of misidentification.

The outgoing Chelsea midfielder, who was on loan at AC Milan last season, was arrested by police in Milan.

A video retweeted by Sport Italia journalist Tancredi Palmeri captured the terrifying incident. A policeman pushed the surprised footballer, who last season played 14 Serie A matches with the triumphant Rossoneri, in front of a police car.

While he appears to be emptying Bakayoko’s pockets and throwing the contents on the roof of the police car, two more policemen, with their weapons drawn, point them at the player’s car.

A police officer keeps his gun trained on another occupant of the vehicle.

However, it seems that little by little the police realized that they have the wrong person and quickly sheathed their weapons and comforted the midfielder with a soft pat on the back.

“Shocking images of Milan’s Bakayoko in central Milan being held at gunpoint by police taken by someone else,” Tancredi tweeted.

The 27-year-old signed for Chelsea in a big money move in 2017, arriving at Stamford Bridge from Monaco for £ 40 million.

However, despite being at the club for five years, the move did not work out. In his first season, he made 43 appearances in all competitions, but has not played for Chelsea since the 2017-18 season.

Since then, he has spent loan periods at AC Milan, Monaco, Naples and then again at AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title last season.

On Sunday, the French publication Foot Mercato reported that Bakayoko was finally leaving after reaching an agreement with Ligue 1 club Marseille.
