Tom Cruise has conceded one of his most awkward interviews to date when a Formula 1 icon “pushed” himself talking to the Hollywood star.
No one is sure when Martin Brundle is on the F1 grid with a microphone in his hand, not even Tom Cruise.
The Formula One icon did it again at the action-packed British Grand Prix on Monday morning, where his traditional track walk featured the wild, crazy and dignified television the world was waiting for.
Brundle also started the world grand prix at the Miami Grand Prix in May when Serena Williams gave her a cold neck during her pre-run on the track.

Brundle spoke with a number of celebrities while they were on the F1 grid on the Silverstone track during the minutes before the start of the race, and saved his best moment for Cruise.
Cruise made a hasty escape after Brundle came in and put the microphone in the face of the Hollywood star, as delicately as the chaotic situation allowed.
At times, the microphone couldn’t pick up Cruise’s soft responses, but Brundle continued.
That’s how it went down.
Martin Brundle: How’s it going?
Tom Cruise: Really good. How are you?
MB: Welcome back to the grill. Congratulations on the movie that just suffered a storm. Are you encouraging anyone in particular today?
TC: Lewis (Hamilton) always. I love watching him run and he is a good friend of mine. I hope you have a great day.
Cruise gave Brundle a calm slap on the shoulder before turning around before the Sky Sports commentator could ask another question.
Brundle went on to tell the live TV audience, “They pushed me a little bit. But he was lovely. I would have liked to talk to him a little more.”
Cruise was in the VIP area of the track as it celebrated its 60th anniversary.
Brundle also had some memorable moments talking to Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold and rapper Stormzy.
In Brundle’s classic way, he continued to talk to UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries, although he clearly had no idea who the politician was.
He also passed directly in front of MMA star Paddy Pimblett without recognizing him.
The race itself was so dramatic with rookie driver Zhou Guanyu that he survived one of the most terrifying accidents in recent memory.
The fall occurred on the first lap of the race when Mercedes’ George Russell accidentally cut Zhou on the first corner at Silverstone.
Zhou’s car overturned, sliding off the track and into the gravel at full speed before landing sideways on the catch fence.
The race had a red flag and after a long delay, Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz finally got his first victory in his 150th Grand Prix ahead of Sergio Pérez and Lewis Hamilton.
Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished 13th with another unforgettable result.
Zhou posted a selfie on Twitter after the race to reassure fans that he was fine, and reiterated the “halo saved me today.”
