Reds gardener Tommy Pham slapped Giants pitcher Joc Pederson on Friday night, sparking one of the strangest sporting fights in recent memory. Now, we can see the moment when the excitement began.
The video shows Pham approaching Pederson and another member of the Giants, and slapping Pederson before the two teams converge to separate them.
Pham was suspended for three games. The Reds with the Giants series is missing.

The problem with the team seemed to stem from whether Pederson used Jeff Wilson’s Injured Reserve correctly, even though Wilson wasn’t really in IR. Pham also claimed that Pederson “disrespected” his parents in a group text, which led Pederson to show the media the specific text he submitted.
Both players agreed that there was a lot of money at stake, and Pham went so far as to say that he is a “big dog” in Las Vegas when it comes to money. Pederson said Pham left the league in the middle of the season in part because of the problem.
