Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was a very successful remake package of the two original games, which made fans wonder if Activision would ever look to remake other games in the series, with 3 + 4 in particular. that the fans wanted.
So it turns out that this is exactly what was planned before Vicarious Visions, the 1 + 2 developer was absorbed into Blizzard by Activision.
Tony Hawk spoke directly about this in a Twitch stream where another skater was playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and asked about 3 + 4. Hawk said, “That was the plan (3 + 4). all until the release date of this (1 + 2) we went 3 + 4 and then Vicarious was absorbed and then Activision looked for other developers and then it was over “.
Speaking about what happened next, Hawk said that “they (Activision) were trying to find someone else to do 3 + 4, but they didn’t trust anyone like they did Vicarious, so they took other releases from other studios, so “It’s what you’d do with the Tony Hawk franchise, but they didn’t like anything they heard, so that’s it. I wish there was some way back. Maybe when the dust settles.”

I think considering that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was a huge success, it’s a shame to definitely see it. We gave the game an 8/10 in our review.
