This week there have been rumors about some of the changes that will occur in iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, while we have also heard details about the line of the iPhone 14 that we do not expect to see until the usual September time period, so read below are all the details from the week before WWDC!

What to expect at WWDC 2022: iOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9 and possibly new Macs

The wait is almost over! Apple’s annual WWDC Developer Conference begins Monday with Apple’s inaugural conference at 10 a.m. Pacific time, and while software is always the focus of the event, there’s no doubt about the possibility of ‘one or two hardware ads.

As usual, we’ve put together everything we hope to see in Monday’s presentation, some of which includes breaking news that is highlighted below.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple aims to announce a new MacBook Air with an M2 chip at WWDC this year, but the presentation could be delayed due to blockages in China affecting production. On the other hand, Gurman believes that a large-scale presentation of Apple’s AR / VR headphones is unlikely at the event.

IOS 16 lock screen enhancements, redesigned Mac apps and more are expected at WWDC

Bloomberg’s other WWDC expectations include “significant improvements” to the iPhone’s lock screen in iOS 16, such as widget-like capabilities, along with redesigned Mac apps and more.

One of the built-in applications that will receive a redesign in macOS 13 will be System Preferences, which is expected to receive a revision that will make it more similar to the iPhone and iPad Settings app.

Apple wants to make the iPad more like a Mac with the multitasking changes of the iPad 16

Another Gurman report before the WWDC states that iPadOS 16 will feature a redesigned multitasking interface and the ability to resize application windows on the screen.

Apple this week added WWDC 2022 to its event website, and if you visit the page on an iPhone or iPad, there’s a fun augmented reality Easter egg.

For WWDC 2022, Apple has created a package of trading cards that you can see in augmented reality; there is even a rare card by Craig Federighi. Once placed on a surface using the AR interface, you can tap the deck of cards to open it and see a series of colorful Memoji faces.

It is rumored that the iPhone 14 Pro includes the always-on display mode

IOS 16 is reported to include support for a future-ready display mode on iPhones. This feature could debut exclusively on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max when they are released later this year.

An always-on display mode could cause iPhone 14 Pro models to display persistently viewable information, such as time, with the refresh rate dropping to 1 Hz to preserve battery life.

The iPhone 14 line is expected to start with a 6GB increase in RAM

The four iPhone 14 models to be released later this year will be equipped with 6GB of RAM, according to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce.

TrendForce also said that the iPhone 14 Pro models will be upgraded to a faster, more energy-efficient type of RAM known as LPDDR5, while the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models are expected to stay with LPDDR4X. such as the iPhone 13 line.
