Topic: What was your first game? …again

There was a thread like this in 2012 and I would reply, but it has been archived and blocked, so I will only post a similar post on the forum because of this video!

So yes, what was everyone’s first match. Not only do I know the first game I played, but I even know the second, third, and where I played those games.

The first game I played was Atari Star Wars in an Arcade, which was the entrance hall to a bingo hall at the Caister-on-Sea Haven vacation camp in 1989. I knew what video games were, but I never understood them until I understood them. I saw something I realized, which was Star Wars, trying to cross the trenches and blow up the Death Star. I cried for my grandfather to give me a spin on the game, and my spoiled I spoiled it gave the game a spin and I loved it!

Now the next two games I’m not too sure what came second and what came third, but after playing Atari Star Wars, I watched those two games and had to play them! One of them is possibly the first fighting game ever made, Karate Champ! I totally remember seeing the scene where you fight in a trunk that is placed between two trees, and the scene where you have to fight a bull punching him in the face.

Then the other game I remember was Namco’s Sky Kid, a little big shmup, though it moves from right to left instead of left to right. I remember my dad had a few games in that game, and I was angry that he wasn’t up because that’s the control of a real plane.
