The Minnesota Twins and the Toronto Blue Jays meet in MLB action from the Rogers Centre on Saturday.
The Minnesota Twins will look to build on a 9-3 win over Toronto to start their series on Friday. Luis Arraez has 53 hits including 5 doubles while also posting a .342 batting average. Byron Buxton also has 32 hits with a team-high 12 home runs and 23 RBIs and Trevor Larnach has 12 doubles and Gary Sanchez has 13 doubles to lead the Twins in two-baggers this season. Jorge Polanco has 42 hits and 26 RBIs and Max Kepler has 25 RBIs as well on the year, while Carlos Correa’s also added 39 hits. Dylan Bundy will start here and is 3-2 with a 4.76 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season.
The Toronto Blue Jays will be out for revenge after a disappointing showing against the Twins in Friday’s series opener. Bo Bichette leads the Blue Jays with 54 hits including 14 doubles, 7 home runs and 26 RBIs while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has a team-high 11 home runs with 27 RBIs and George Springer has 10 home runs with 27 RBIs as well this season. Santiago Espinal has 46 hits with a team-high 14 doubles and a .269 batting average on the year. Jose Berrios will get the start in this one and is 3-2 with a 5.62 ERA and 36 strikeouts this season.
Minnesota is 1-4 in their last 5 games overall and 4-0 in their last 4 game two matchups while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a right-handed starter. Toronto is 8-1 in their last 9 games overall and 38-15 in their last 53 game two matchups while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
I get the reasoning for backing either team here, but ultimately, I’m looking at the over here. You have two offenses that are fully capable of lighting up the scoreboard, especially the Twins who did just that on Friday, against a pair of starters in Bundy and Berrios who have been batting practice for opposing teams this season. Give me the over in this one.
