Toronto cuts COVID-19 vaccine clinic schedule for summer

Toronto will shorten hours at the city’s immunization clinics over the summer.

According to Toronto Public Health, the new operating hours will begin Monday and will affect the six active clinics offering the COVID-19 vaccine. In a notice posted on social media, officials said the changes “will meet the needs of Toronto residents throughout the summer.”

These are the new schedules:

· At Metro Hall and Crossroads Plaza the clinics will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

· At Cloverdale Mall, Mitchell Field Community Center and 1940 Eglinton Avenue, clinics will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

· At Thorncliffe Park Community Hub, the clinic will be open from 12 noon to 6 pm, as well as from 10 am to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

All clinics offer the first, second, and third doses, as well as fourth doses for selected groups.

Residents can book an appointment through the provincial booking portal or call center.

Students in grades 7-12 can also book appointments at these clinics for school vaccines, such as those for hepatitis B, HPV, and meningococcal disease.

About 51.7 percent of all eligible Toronto residents have received three doses of a vaccine against COVID-19.
