Toronto’s Union Station was closed Saturday night after a close-range shooting.
A man was shot and has been confirmed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
Toronto doctors treated the man.

“Tonight, police have reported that a victim of a shooting was outside Union Station and ordered the station to be evacuated,” Metrolinx media and public relations chief Anne Marie Aikins told Global News , and noted that she and her family were among the evacuees.
“Trains do not enter or leave the union station at the moment and otherwise remain until the police determine that everyone is safe. Our staff is safe and in a safe place. We are committed to keeping customers informed. “As information comes in. Security is our number one priority.”

Suri Diaz, 29, was eating at Union Chicken inside the station when security arrived and told restaurant customers to start moving slowly toward the exit.

“A few minutes later, the station was being completely evacuated and police were on the scene,” he told Global News.
Union Station has 300,000 daily visitors, according to its website.
