Toronto’s heat warning continues Sunday, but temperatures are expected to cool in the evening

A heat warning is maintained for the rest of the weekend in Toronto, but temperatures are expected to drop on Sunday evening.

Environment Canada says maximum temperatures could reach lows in the thirties once again on Sunday. Humidex stocks are also expected to be in the mid to high 1930s.

The weather agency said that tonight “considerably” cooler and less humid air will arrive due to a cold front.

As the heat event continues Sunday morning, the agency warns that hot, humid air could deteriorate air quality.

He also warns that very high temperatures or humid conditions are expected to pose a high risk of heat illness, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

“The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people who work or exercise outdoors,” the agency said.

“Drink plenty of water even before you’re thirsty and stay in a cool place.”
