Tottenham Hotspur are set to make another attempt to sign Brighton star Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window.
According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are set to rekindle interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma in the upcoming 2022 summer transfer window.
The Mali international is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and has been one of the Seagulls’ best players in recent seasons. At 25, he is ready to take the next step in his development and can evolve into a world-class star under the right guidance.
Tottenham have long been linked with the Brighton ace. Now that it has qualified for the UEFA Champions League 2022/23, the club is in a strong position to attract the best talent. In addition, a £ 150 million infusion from ENIC will also provide funding to the North London club to make the necessary reinforcements.
Bissouma is a capable player who is not only an expert in breaking the game, but also in making vital interceptions and bringing the ball to the field as needed. These shots would add some much-needed dynamism to the midfield of Tottenham. The Malian association alongside Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg or Rodrigo Bentancur will give Antonio Conte a link in the middle of the field around which he can build a winning team.

The 25-year-old’s contract with The Amex expires in 2023, which means he has just over a year left on his current deal. Brighton are at risk of losing their star man for free next year and could decide to take advantage of him this summer. Bissouma is expected to cost the Spurs about £ 30 million, a fair amount considering what he will add to his roster.
Conte will not have an easy route to land her husband, as Bissouma is also on Aston Villa’s radar. Steven Gerrard’s suit had beaten the Spurs by the player in January, and history could repeat itself this summer.
Aston Villa have already signed Boubacar Kamara and now they have their eyes on Bissouma. Having the duo at their disposal will give them a double pivot that can do wonders next season. This lack of muscle in the middle of the park cost them dearly on the final day of the Premier League season against Manchester City.
Gerrard is a legendary midfielder of his time and is well aware of the importance of having a solid pivot in the middle of the field. It remains to be seen to what extent he will push for the signing of Bissouma and what impact it will have on Tottenham’s search.
