Jesus gave an inclination to reject Tottenham
Liverpool hero Steve McManaman believes Gabriel Jesus will reject Chelsea and Tottenham to join Arsenal this summer.
“Arsenal need a center-forward and can be the main man, as he already has a great deal of experience in the Premier League and pays the bills for Erling Haaland’s move,” he told HorseRacing.net via Metro.
“He has also been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham, so the fact of playing in the Champions League would weigh on your head.
“You always want to play in the Champions League and the same goes for Jesus. He is used to being successful with Manchester City, so of course you want to play for the team that offers you Champions League football.
“Tottenham is less of an option for him because they have Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, who have both had great seasons, so all of a sudden this is becoming a competition for you.
“For Chelsea, it will all depend on whether, of course, Raheem Sterling appears or if Romelu Lukaku is there, but there are a lot of people, so Arsenal are the only team that is clamoring for their type of player and, for Of course, he has worked with Mikel Arteta, so maybe that denies that they are not in the Champions League.
“You can go there and be comfortable with someone you already know.”
