Liverpool have reportedly held talks with Bayern Munich striker Serge Gnabry over a summer move to Anfield.
According to Anfield Central, Liverpool have contacted the German international Serge Gnabry, valued at 80 million euros by Bayern Munich, regarding the change of summer at Merseyside.
The 26-year-old is mostly a right winger, but he can play anywhere on the front line. One of Bayern’s most outstanding players last season, Gnabry has conceded 17 goals and ten assists in 45 games in all competitions. Only Robert Lewandowski beat him at Bayern Munich during the campaign.
The German international’s contract at the Allianz Arena will expire in the summer of 2023, which means he could leave as a free agent in a year. The Bundesliga champions will do well to sell it this summer if there is no intention of making a new deal.
Gnabry’s situation has caught the attention of some of the best clubs in Europe. Apart from Liverpool, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have put their name on the hat. The Reds are ready for a summer rebuild and could hit each other on the arm securing the 26-year-old.

There have already been conversations between the player and the reds. Gnabry is looking for £ 250,000 a week in salaries, making him one of the club’s top earners. Liverpool are ready to splash out on cash, but will only get up to £ 200,000 a week. Whether this is a negotiable figure is debatable.
The player also seeks to be valued, which should not be a problem on Merseyside. Liverpool love theirs, but are also not afraid to stay in their place when it matters.
Both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been the pillars of Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp. While his role in the club’s success cannot be underestimated, the club will not break his salary structure to meet his demands. It’s hard to see them taking a different stance on Gnabry.
The move to Liverpool will be a victory for both parties. Liverpool get along with another young and exciting winger to help them rebuild, while Gnabry plays on a great team of a team led by the best coach in the world. But then, as we have seen in recent times, the 26-year-old will have to serve the system and not the other way around.

With Bayern Munich leading the race for Mane, it will be interesting to see how the two transfers could be interrelated. To cheer things up, both Gnabry and Mane are also represented by the same agency.
While Gnabry is valued at 80 million euros, Bayern believe they can get about 40 million euros for their star man, a rate that has also been referred to in terms of Mane. It remains to be seen whether a direct exchange is an option that will be discussed.
