A magnitude 3 earthquake has been felt in south-east Queensland, Geoscience Australia has confirmed.
The quake affected Brendale, a 35-minute drive north of Brisbane in the state of Moreton Bay.
Geoscience Australia data show that the quake occurred around 1:30 pm this afternoon and was 10 kilometers deep.

Social media users described feeling their properties shaking and a loud bang or noise as the earth shook.
A social media user said he heard “a few seconds of deep rumble” from the ground floor of his southeast property.
A man from Eatons Hill, Moreton Bay, described the quake as “a truck full of rocks being left outside our house”.
Category 3 earthquakes are considered minor and unlikely to cause damage.
A magnitude 6.2 earthquake shook Darwin and surrounding areas in the Northern Territory last Friday, with earthquakes off the coast of East Timor.
Geoscience Australia senior seismologist Trevor Allen said earthquakes are felt most strongly by people in high-rise buildings, due to natural movements and the frequency of high-rise structures.
He said anyone who feels an earthquake quake should seek refuge in safe areas.

“In terms of what to do if you feel an earthquake, the best advice we have is to drop yourself under a sturdy object or table, cover yourself, especially your head, and wait for the tremor to stop,” Allen said.
