Mariel Semonte Orr, an Atlanta rapper best known by his stage name Trouble, has died at the age of 34.
The “Bring It Back” rapper, also known as Skoob, was caught Saturday night in a deadly shooting in Atlanta while sitting in his car. He had acted the same night, just hours before the incident.
Orr’s death was confirmed by his label, Def Jam Recordings, in a release on Sunday morning.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with children, loved ones and Trouble fans,” the label wrote. “A real voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented.”
Details about his death have been limited to friends and family, who have shared the message of his grief with the public.
A day before his death, the rapper tweeted that he would navigate the streets of Atlanta with caution. He wrote, “It’s too much 12 for me tonight. I’M GOING HOME !! Move smoove out.”

Orr’s debut mixtape, “December 17th” (number 23 on “The 25 Best Mixtapes of 2011”) by Complex), was released in April 2011. He released two full-length studio albums: “Edgewood” by 2018 and “Thug Love” of 2020. ”“ December 17th ”included Trouble’s big hit,“ Bussin, ”which was remixed by Yo Gotti, Waka Flocka Flame, and Trae the Truth. Orr was also included in XXL magazine’s list of “15 Atlanta rappers you should know” in 2013.
The rapper later signed with Mike WiLL’s Made-It label, Ear Drummer Records via Interscope Records. In 2014, Mike Will also signed Rae Sremmurd and Two-9 with the label. The American record producer shared his condolences on Instagram with a series of photos, writing “Rest Easy Skoob”.
Trouble’s last full-length studio work was 2020’s “Thug Luv” featuring 2 Chainz, Boosie Badazz, City Girls, Jacquees and Scalez. Critics described the album as Trouble’s best work to date, saying it had “really gotten into its own sound”, as one reviewer put it.
