Police are investigating whether a road rage incident led to a multi-vehicle crash on a Melbourne freeway.
The four-lorry pile-up happened at around 1pm, on the M80 ring road at Glenroy, which has left a man fighting for his life.
The crash caused hours of congestion on Melbourne’s roads, causing chaos during the rush hour commute.

9News understands police are investigating whether a road rage incident led to the crash.
Police are understood to be looking for a dark Range Rover, which they believe cut in front of the lorry and slammed on its brakes, causing a domino effect.
Lanes on all Altona-bound lanes of the M80 Ring Road at Sydney Road and Pascoe Vale Road, Fawkner were closed for almost four hours.
All lanes have now reopened.
There are significant delays on the M80, the Hume Freeway, Sydney Road, Camp Road, Pascoe Vale Road, Mahoneys Road, Cooper Street and Bell Street, and congestion will take some time to ease.
The truck driver was taken to hospital in critical condition.
