Former President Donald Trump on Saturday called on Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in a state of change after his Supreme Court issued a ruling Friday that restricted the use of ballot boxes.
The Republican-led Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that absentee ballot boxes can only be placed at polling stations and that only the voter can return a ballot in person, according to the Associated Press. In 2020, ballot boxes were used to vote because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the court found that the Wisconsin Electoral Commission exceeded its limits by allowing the use of ballot boxes.
The decision gives a victory to Republicans, who, without substantial evidence, have claimed that the boxes caused widespread fraud during the 2020 presidential election, which some claim was stolen from Trump.

He praised the decision of the Supreme Court on Friday, but did not mention the possibility of canceling the 2020 elections.

The decision will bolster Republican efforts to tighten election laws in Wisconsin, as conservative lawmakers in the United States have tried to do since Trump’s defeat. The restrictions could have an impact on the midterm state elections in November.
Democrat Gov. Tony Evers condemned the Supreme Court ruling in his own statement Friday.

Although more than a year has passed since the 2020 election, Trump and his allies continue to push for efforts to undo the results and see the former president reinstated.
Attorney Christina Bobb, who has backed Trump’s legal challenge to frustrate election results, told the Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) earlier this week that if Republicans regain majorities in Congress, they could reinstate Trump as president if three states won by Biden withdraw their voters. .
Other Trump allies, including Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow who has backed election conspiracies, also said the ruling should lead to desertification while speaking to RSBN on Saturday.
“Pennsylvania, Arizona and Wisconsin should be deserted immediately. There shouldn’t even be any doubt,” he said, though there has been no substantial evidence of election fraud in any of those states.
