TUI, Jet2, EasyJet and Ryanair have posted an update for all passengers using Birmingham Airport today and over the weekend. Travel companies made the statement following numerous cancellations at airports across the UK over the past week, some of which affected Birmingham.
Airports in the UK were left in chaos this week after British Airways and EasyJet canceled more than 150 combined flights, causing panic among tourists using the airports over the Jubilee weekend. There were widespread reports of disruptions, long waits on aircraft due to staff shortages and baggage delays.
About 150,000 tourists are expected to pass through the gates of the Birmingham Airport terminal over the long weekend. The center, which has been hit by long queues in recent months, is poised for 89 percent of pre-Covid customer volumes to return over the extended weekend.

Tashika (@tashikabennett) tweeted: “Very nice @bhx_official staff this afternoon to direct and help. Delivery of the suitcase was easy and safe in less than 10 minutes. Long time to have a drink before the holidays “.
Reports of disruptions to the terminal, baggage room, and grounded plans had caused anxiety for travelers being sent during the Queen’s Jubilee. The four airlines giants have issued an update today (June 3) to BirminghamLive confirming that there are no scheduled flight cancellations from Birmingham Airport today.
They also provided information on whether customers should claim compensation in the rare event that they have to cancel their flight.
