Twitter will close the TweetDeck control panel for the Mac app from July 1st

The microblogging site’s Twitter social dashboard management app, TweetDeck, will no longer be available as a standalone Mac app from July 1st.

When it launched the TweetDeck app for Mac, Twitter has started placing a blue banner on top of users warning that it will only be available for another month, reports 9To5Google.

“We’re saying goodbye to TweetDeck for the Mac app to focus on further improving TweetDeck and testing our new preview,” says a tweet from the TweetDeck team.

“July 1 is the last day it will be available,” he added.

According to the report, TweetDeck for Mac just received a review last year that aligned it with the web version.

At the time, the company admitted that the app had not been “highly valued” and that it was an example of “a service owned and operated by Twitter in which we will continue to invest,” he added.

Another weird part about abruptly canceling the TweetDeck Mac app is that it shouldn’t require any maintenance effort for Twitter, as it’s a website wrapper implementation.

Last year, the microblogging site announced a new and improved version of TweetDeck. At the time, I was testing new features with a small group of users in the US, Canada, and Australia.
