Two actors have died after a van carrying the crew of the Netflix program The Chosen One was involved in a serious car accident.
Actors Raymundo Garduno Cruz and Juan Francisco Gonzalez Aguilar have both reportedly died from injuries sustained in the billing accident on the Baja California Sur peninsula, according to the Baja California Department of Culture in Mexico and six other crew members were injured. writes The Mirror.
Local media reported that the accident took place on Thursday 16 June and claim that the van overturned after leaving the road in a desert area.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that it appears the crew was working in the nearby Santa Rosalia area at the time of the crash.

The Chosen One is an adaptation of an American Jesus comic book series, originally published as Chosen, created by Mark Millar.
The show began filming in Mexico in April, with Everardo Gout and Leopoldo Gout working as co-showrunners for the series.
The Netflix giant describes the series as: “A 12-year-old boy learns that he is the returned Jesus Christ, destined to save humanity. Based on the Mark Millar and Peter Gross comic book series.”
Another synopsis of the show released earlier this year reads: “The multilingual series (Spanish / English) American Jesus follows a twelve-year-old boy who suddenly discovers that he has returned as Jesus Christ.
“He will be able to turn water into wine, make bodies walk, and perhaps even resurrect the dead! How will he face the fate of leading the world in a conflict of thousands of years in process?”
First released in 2004 under the name Chosen, the comic The Chosen One adapts the television series was re-released later under the title, American Jesus.
He has approached Netflix for comment, although the show is said to be filmed by an independent producer.
The release date of the series had not been confirmed before the crash.
The Chosen One is also the name of another program available on the streaming platform: a Portuguese series that currently has two series available to watch on Netflix.
Following the news of the crash on social media, singer and dancer Porscha Coleman was one of the many Twitter users who posted about the tragedy.
“This is terrible news,” the star wrote.
“As a fellow actor, my heart goes out to the wounded and dead during filming on stage. You never want to hear something like this happen when people are doing what they love #thechosenone #netflix #mexico” .
