Two men were arrested after firing on a house.
Police were called to Springvale Close in Kirkby around 10:50 p.m. Monday, June 6, where they found damage to the wall and door of the house, consisting of gunshots. One person, who has lived nearby for more than 40 years, told ECHO children that they often “played” in the closet.
They said, “The police are always around. I have grandchildren and I’m afraid to let them play on the street. There are cars flying up and down all the time. It’s ridiculous.

“It used to be such a beautiful place to live, but over the years it’s gotten worse, it’s gone downhill. Lately there’s always something. The police are always called, if it’s not that close, it’s a little up. I same, but it’s terrifying.
“I’m sorry for the people who raise their children, you don’t know what will happen. The children play here often on the street, it’s sad.” According to police, there were no reports of injuries and the criminals left in a vehicle in the direction of Dagnall Road.

After extensive investigations, a 20-year-old man from Westvale, Kirkby was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a property yesterday Thursday, June 16th. He was arrested for questioning and has now been released under investigation, pending further investigation. .
A 40-year-old Westvale man has also been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger his life. He was arrested for questioning and has now been released on parole while investigations continue.
