Emergency services received the warning around 1:30 p.m. Various agencies were deployed, including police, firefighters, ambulance, air ambulance, coastguard and search and rescue teams.
Police said the people on the boat were all adults and were believed to be locals from Devon, and the closest relatives had been informed. A statement said: “The ship is being secured and the scene is being managed by the police. A roadblock has been cut at the activity center to allow access to the relevant services.”
The 730-acre lake, which has been a reservoir since 1989, is often used for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and sailing.
