Two people die in a two-vehicle crash in the York area

Police say they are looking for witnesses after two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in the York area on Saturday morning.

York Regional Police said the crash occurred in the Warden Avenue and Stouffville Road area of ​​Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, around 8:45 a.m.

A dump truck with a trailer collided with a Toyota Corolla with two occupants, they said.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Corolla died at the scene, while the driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Unfortunately, two people have been pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Warden Ave and Stouffville Road. The incident took place at 8.45 am when a transport truck and a Toyota were involved. The intersection will be closed for a few hours for investigation.

“All witnesses are being asked not to speak to police, or anyone with images of the collision’s dashboard camera,” York police said in a press release on Saturday.

“We would also like to speak with anyone who has seen any of the vehicles or has information about driving behavior prior to the collision.”

Police say the intersection will remain closed for several hours due to the investigation.
