Preliminary investigation reveals a 27-year-old Windsor man was traveling east on Queen’s Line when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck traveling west on Queen’s Line, police said.

The man’s vehicle collided with a previous model of a Buick, which had five occupants, and was traveling directly behind the van, police said.

Two occupants of the Buick were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Out of respect for the families, the names of the two dead will not be released at this time, police said.

All other occupants involved were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to be treated for life-threatening injuries, police said.

A fourth vehicle was indirectly involved when it veered off the road to avoid the crash, police said.

The collision is still under investigation by the traffic management unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Josh Flikweert at 519-355-1092 or joshuaf@chatham-kent.ca.
