When the Chiefs switched receiver Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins, many were surprised that Kansas City would become such a dynamic player. However, it may not have been a shock.
On Hill’s new podcast, It Needed To Be Said, Miami Wide said he wasn’t happy with the way the Chiefs used him last season.
“If the teams give us one-on-one matches against their best corner, I don’t see why the teams don’t use their best receiver,” Hill told ProFootballTalk. “And this is where probably like me and the Chiefs collapsed right there. When I’m like, I don’t want to talk or be a diva in any situation, but can I see the pill someday, please? Just give me the ball, please “.
Hill also had his agent Drew Rosenhaus talk about what was missing from the relationship between Hill and Kansas City. Specifically, Rosenhaus mentioned the disconnect between them and the Chiefs when it came to the extension of Hill’s contract, which was affected by Davante Adams’ new deal with the Raiders.
“If they didn’t want to make that kind of deal, we would get them a very successful trade,” Rosenhaus said. “I told them outright that I felt like I could talk to teams in the league and bring in a lot of, bring in a lot of compensation. And I think the Chiefs initially wanted to challenge us and see what we could get from other teams contractually and what we could obtain also in terms of compensation “.

Hill signed a four-year, $ 120 million extension with Miami as part of the trade. He explained that he tried to get Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid to influence Brett Veach to make that deal, but it didn’t seem to work.
Both Hill and Rosenhaus opened up completely beyond these two themes. Hill mentioned that the Chiefs did not let him see his grandfather, who underwent prostate surgery in 2021, where things seem more relaxed in Miami.
In addition, Rosenhaus believes Muhammad’s star power was too great in Kansas City, where the Dolphins will recognize Hill’s presence more. However, Hill says it’s not a problem.
“The only thing I care about is the respect inside the building. Notoriety outside the building, I don’t care about that, man, “he said. “Because none of that will win us Sunday’s games.”
