Ubisoft insists Roller Champions “will not be cancelled” following a recent report

Ubisoft has responded to a recent report claiming that Roller Champions will end after its third season, insisting that it “will not be cancelled” and that it “fully supports” the project.

Word that Ubisoft’s free-to-play sports game was nearing the end of its life, despite only launching in May, came via Jeff Grubb during a segment on the Xbox Era podcast over the weekend of week

In response, Ubisoft has now shared a statement on Twitter denying these claims and insisting that “Roller Champions will not be cancelled.” But while it doesn’t currently look like a demise is imminent, Ubisoft says it will extend the current season of Roller Champions, Disco Fever, to “focus on what our players have told us needs improvement.”

The current season of Roller Champions, Disco Fever, will be extended until further notice.

That work, he insists, “supersedes all other priorities,” and will see the development team release a patch that includes cross-invites (as well as a variety of fixes) “so that we deliver on the promise of the game as an experience decidedly social”. . It also says it will “take enough time to resolve the issues that our players have expressed as irritating” before launching a new season.

“We can tell you that we have exciting things planned for the next few seasons,” he adds. “We strongly believe, however, that before we release new content, we need to do it right for our players, so we take the necessary time before doing so.”

“Rest assured,” Ubisoft concludes, “we’ll keep you posted as we move forward.”
