The UK Met Office has issued an amber extreme heat warning covering four days from Thursday to Sunday for parts of England and Wales as another heat wave approaches.
The warning comes as the forecaster predicted 35C in some places, down from last month’s record temperatures, which peaked above 40C in some spots.
The vulnerable are likely to experience adverse health effects, while the general population could also be affected, the alert said.
Travel delays are possible and there is an increased risk of water and fire accidents as more people visit coastlines and beauty spots, the Met Office also warned.
