UPDATE 8:00 a.m .: 2,500 households and businesses remain without electricity in the urban city of Belleville, mostly in the central and eastern parts of the city. Elexicon Energy expects all electricity to be restored on Friday evening.
It didn’t last long, but many people will remember the storms that ravaged the Quinte region on Thursday afternoon.
The storms shifted after 3pm and caused torrential showers and gusts of wind breaking the trees.
At one point during the storms, roofing materials were removed from the roofs of at least three buildings in the downtown Belleville district at the north end of Front Street, which contained the restaurant, home and home. Chilango House and Freedom Support Center across the street. Luckily there were no injuries.

Tree branches were scattered everywhere and some large trees were completely uprooted. The most severe damage was in the far east of Belleville.
Despite the damage, there have been no reports of tornadoes.
When the storms passed, some 35,000 Hydro One customers were without electricity in the Quinte region, with the largest disruption starting north of Highway 401 in Belleville and extending through Madoc and Marmora. There were also major disruptions in Quinte West, Brighton, Trent Hills and Prince Edward County around Rossmore and Fenwood Gardens.
Several thousand homes and businesses in the city of Belleville were without electricity.
While the equipment worked all night, most customers had the power returned.

However, at 3 a.m. Friday, Elexicon Energy teams were still working in seven areas, all in the eastern and central parts of Belleville, where fallen trees and branches had caused power outages.
Meanwhile, in rural areas, most of the electricity has been turned on again, but there were still small cuts scattered throughout the Quinte region and teams were working to get to each incident to assess the damage and make repairs. .
All lights are expected to return on Friday at noon.
