Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a West Gray man in connection with a homicide investigation in Chatsworth Township.
On July 17, 2022, at approximately 1:48 p.m., several OPP units from the Western Region and Central OPP Region responded to the Walters Falls area after receiving information that a wanted suspect had been observed. in the area.
Police arrested Kodie Hearsum, 34, of West Gray Township at approximately 3:43 p.m.
Defendant is in custody awaiting bail on the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton. The West Gray Police Service (WGPS) and the Gray Bruce OPP began the investigation on July 15, 2022, following a shooting on Gray Road 4 in West Gray Township and the discovery of a dead individual. in the Walters Falls area in the township. of Chatsworth.

The West Gray Police Service (WGPS) and Gray Bruce Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a homicide that took place in the municipality of West Gray.
On July 15, at approximately 3:04 a.m., the WGPS responded to a report of a shooting at a Gray Road 4 residence in West Gray township.
On the night of July 15, Gray Bruce’s OPP discovered a 62-year-old dead individual in the Walters Falls area of Chatsworth Township. This dead person is believed to be related to the West Gray shooting incident.
Police are trying to locate Kodie Hearsum, 34, of West Gray. This person is considered armed and dangerous and a risk to public safety. Anyone who may know the whereabouts of this person, or who may come into contact with that person, should not approach them. Contact the police as soon as possible by calling 911.
The suspect is described as:
- White male
- 200 pounds (90 kg), with a medium build
- Five feet, 10 inches tall (178 cm)
- Brown hair
- Blue eyes
- Tattoos located on the neck, shoulder and chest region
- He is believed to be wearing knee-length jeans and a light-colored jacket
