In a press release issued shortly after noon on Sunday, the Norfolk County OPP provided details about the suspect being sought.

Police say the suspect has been described as a tall black man with dreadlocks. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants at the time of the shooting.

The suspect was seen entering a red or burglar sports utility vehicle parked on Nelson Street South in Simcoe. The suspicious vehicle was last seen traveling on Queen Street South.
