V Rising can now be played on Linux and Steam Deck consoles, while developer Stunlock Studios has announced that the vampire survival game has sold 1 million copies.
Ever since it found overwhelming success on PC, V Rising is now available for fans of Linux and Steam Deck to play, as the latest “avant-garde” beta version of Proton Experimental has introduced compatibility.
As GamingOnLinux explains, to enter the game on Linux or Steam Deck, players would have to go to Proton Experimental in their Steam library, go to the “Betas” tab in Properties and opt for the “avant-garde” beta.
From there, go to V Rising Properties, select Compatibility, and choose Proton Experimental. This will allow players to jump to V Rising on the platform of their choice.

As V Rising hits alternative PC platforms, the developer has celebrated the huge success of the game. Yesterday (May 24), Stunlock Studios revealed that V Rising has sold a million copies of prints, a milestone that has become even more impressive considering that the game was only released on May 17.
“1,000,000 vampires have risen from their slumber! Thank you all for being a part of this success,” Stunlock Studios shared.
The initial success of V Rising has made it one of the most played games on Steam this week. As tracked on SteamDB, the survival game is currently among the top ten most played games on Steam and already has a record 150,645 players simultaneously.

For anyone who hasn’t chosen V Rising yet, the game’s Steam page shares what to expect:
“Wake up like a weakened vampire after centuries of sleep. Hunt for blood to regain strength as you hide from the scorching sun to survive. Rebuild your castle and turn humans into your loyal servants in a quest to lift your vampire empire. Make allies or enemies online or play solo locally, defend holy soldiers and make war in a world of conflict. “
Recently, NME tested the game as part of our Unfinished Business series and found that Stunlock Studios is already a winner, and if the developer can expand the game as planned (and nail this vampire premise correctly), it could even be. Calling the Valheim window as the main survival adventure. “
In other gaming news, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been released in October.
