Valve designer Lawrence Yang has made a public plea to users, asking them not to modify their devices to try to upgrade the Steam Deck SSD to house a 2242 M.2 NVMe SSD, instead of the 2230 form factor SSD which includes as standard. .

In April, Valve revealed that it was increasing its Steam Deck shipments. As a quick reminder, once an email has been sent informing you that some devices are available, you only have three days (72 hours) to click the link and secure your Deck purchase.
In addition to this increase in Steam Deck shipments, Valve also updated its product page to “clarify what After Q3 means in terms of months.” For those placing the order now, “After the third quarter” means “October 2022 or later.”
