Vaughan’s latest car theft caught on camera

The video captured by a doorbell camera shows the terrifying moments when a victim confronted two suspects in the latest GTA armed car theft.

The robbery took place in a residential area of Vaughan on Tuesday afternoon, seconds after the victim entered his driveway.

Shortly before 1:10 p.m., police responded to reports of a vehicle theft at Purcell Crescent, near Keele Street and Major MacKenzie Drive.

A man confronted two suspected men who brandished firearms and called for the victim’s black Audi, police said.

The video of the bell obtained by CTV News Toronto shows two suspects in sweatshirts approaching the victim.

In the video, the victim is seen receding on the front lawn as he confronts the suspects. One of them turns back for some reason and pulls away from the shot while the other walks menacingly towards the victim.

No weapons were seen in the video, but the victim, who did not want to be named, told CTV News he saw two guns.

A demand for keys and a wallet can be heard before the suspects move away from the victim.

Then one of the suspects drives a Honda Civic.

The victim then watches helplessly from his lawn as the other suspect climbs into his black Audi SUV and drives away with his car and wallet.

The victim believes he was followed home by the suspect, police said.

Police describe the suspects as black men in their 20s.

There have been a number of car thefts in the GTA in recent weeks, including an incident in which the Toronto Maple Leafs striker Mitch Marner had his Range Rover stolen at gunpoint in Etobicoke.
