“Very scared”: Big Bang Theory star reveals the diagnosis

Mayim Bialik, better known as Amy for the hit sitcom, has opened up about her new health struggle, describing it as “no joke”.

Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik is “very scared” after testing positive for Covid-19.

“I have Covid and it’s no joke here,” said Bialik, who is vaccinated and boosted against the virus, in a video posted to her podcast’s Instagram account.

The 46-year-old actress said: “She will find us and she did. It’s very, very exhausting … There are so many varieties of Covid … Exhaustion is very special.”

Bialik, who has asthma and thyroid disease, compared the sensation to having a glandular fever and said, “You need to sleep.”

“I am very sorry to have ever taken off my mask in the world, as even outside,” he said. “I’ve still been very careful … I’m just putting this out there. I’m so scared. Why did I ever go out? Why did I think something was ever right?”

The actress shared that she hoped her symptoms would go away quickly.

“I’m trying to believe my body knows what to do,” he said. “I have asthma. I have thyroid disease, which means it’s an immunocompromised condition.”

Along with exhaustion, Bialik said he felt a tightness in his chest that “doesn’t feel right at all.”

She shared some remedies she was exploring to relieve her symptoms such as ginger and special supplements, and added that she is lucky to have access to these options.

“I’m not trying to shed any light on this. I know there are people who don’t have the resources or attention and it’s something I’ve been following since the beginning of Covid,” he said.

Bialik, who has two children with ex-husband Michael Stone, also expressed how those who should care for young children, especially single parents, think while they have coronavirus.

“This level of exhaustion, I can’t imagine having to take care of young children right now and I know so many people in this world are in this situation.”

On Tuesday, she gave an update, saying she was “feeling better” and thanked those who sent her messages, adding that she is “concerned again about the world and our health in the world.”
