A viral video of a young woman being beaten has led to the belief that the internet could be Zendaya, but from the visual evidence we’ve seen … it’s probably BS.
This clip went around this weekend … it lasts 7 seconds and shows someone crying for this poor girl in an apparent store somewhere. After they have finished punching, they resort to kicking, sending the woman flying back and banging her head against a wall.
In fact, it’s incredibly brutal, and there’s no context, from what we can see, that indicates where or when this happened, exactly who was involved, or why.
What people think they see here, though, is someone who looks like Zendaya, at least from the quick glimpses of this girl’s face that you can see in the video. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either.
Again, it is not known when this could have been, or even if it is Zendaya, frankly, but FWIW, Z right now is not moving this length of hair … has a much shorter “do” . right now, as you can see in recent photos of her in Massachusetts.
Her dress shoes are also different from the ones in this video: Rainbow colored crosses. Zendaya has sneakers here … and she has publicly said that she will wear sneakers or heels, not too much in between. Zendaya has never been captured in Crocs from what we have been able to find.
The bottom line is that there is no clear evidence that she is, in fact, Zendaya, and yet Twitter is trending right now, as they think it could be her. Zendaya or not, others have pointed out that those who are making fun of this are sending the wrong message.
Even if it’s just a doppelganger … filming and recirculating an assault on a woman of color is something that many see as a disturbing trend, with this just the latest example.
We contacted Zendaya Camp for comments. She hasn’t commented on it yet, but if it’s not her, it might be worth denying … because this thing is overflowing.
