Vueling’s flight “took off without passengers” due to Gatwick delays

She said: “Finally, the staff told us that the pilots made the decision to return the empty plane without a single passenger on board due to the closure of the Florence airspace.

“The environmental impact of this is crazy and the decision was clearly made to prioritize the cost implications over the customer experience and the environmental impact.

“Throughout this experience, there were a maximum of three staff members on all Vueling flights that day.

“We arrived at the airport at 3pm and did not leave until 2am after having to wait to give details to the only staff member who handles all flights canceled Taking details and trying to book people in hotels.

“No food or drink was offered at all. There were no food vouchers according to the customer’s rights in case of delay.”

Gatwick airline passengers continued to have problems. One posted a photograph showing a large crowd waiting to register, with the caption: “Vueling, you have to master this absolute chaos in Gatwick.

“A staff member to treat so many people is completely unacceptable. Do you understand the impact this has on people?”

PA approached the airline for comment.
