This was no summer weekend fireworks. When York Regional Police officers responded, they found another fatal shooting victim.
This didn’t happen in a back alley at 3 in the morning or in a crack house. This was a crime that took place in a parking lot at 8pm on Saturday at a busy shopping center on the corner of Hwy. 27 and Langstaff Rd. — with a tutoring business, pizzeria, shoe store, grocery store, dry cleaner and smokehouse.
People came and went.
In other words, this is a place frequented by families going about their day-to-day lives: picking up food for dinner, clothes for work or lottery tickets. But in 2022, you never know when or where you might find yourself in the middle of guns. It happens anywhere, anytime.

GTA gangs and shooters don’t care. They will shoot anywhere and anytime. They don’t care who sees it and/or gets hit.
“Investigators believe this incident was targeted,” said a statement prepared by Const. Armstrong handle.
The killers got their man. Damn anyone who witnessed the shooting or was shot and killed in the crossfire.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen such blatant disregard for human life in Vaughan.

This came very close to a disturbing multiple shooting just 10 months ago when two women were struck in another parking lot and stray bullets also entered a pharmacy. This time, according to the police, the killer or killers managed to achieve their goal.
But sometimes, these bullets ricochet and hit innocent people who were going about their normal business.

While police say there is “no threat to public safety,” they can’t make any promises about next time.
In the meantime, the police are reaching out to the public for help in solving this crime.
“The suspects fled the scene before police arrived,” police said. “The investigation is ongoing and officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.”
Investigators are also seeking video surveillance of the area or any motorists who may have captured video of the incident on a dash cam.
These videos may have captured footage of the shooting, the escape, and of course the regular shoppers who were lucky enough to escape unscathed.
