There’s nothing better than an ice cream cone on a hot, sunny day – just ask Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.
In the midst of a lush but also suffocating championship parade, for San Francisco on Monday, Green was craving a cold. Luckily, the Ghirardelli ice cream and chocolate shop on Market and New Montgomery streets was perfectly located along the parade route for Green to make a quick stop.

The familiar moment contrasted sharply with some of Draymond’s other parades of the parade, which included cursing with abandon on live television and shooting LeBron James tequila shots.
Green, who podcasts side by side and is always aware of the brand’s identity, seemed to advise Ghirardelli employees to make sure their store signs were visible so that, as Green pointed out, their stop was advertising. Free for the San Francisco Chocolate Company
Whether he wanted to or not, Green chose to stop at one of the only events in the Bay Area with more name recognition than him. Ghirardelli is an institution in San Francisco that dates back to the gold rush and is the name of one of the most famous tourist attractions in the city.

If anyone was curious, Green ordered a vanilla, a mint, and a chocolate chip cookie.
But if Green thought that his quick diversion would help him avoid the crowds, he was unfortunately quite wrong.
