Depending on your design, you might be forgiven for thinking it’s less of a chair and more of a chair. Here’s a direct instructional video from the marketing department in charge of selling this weird ephemeral game piece:
So you can make a back and forth movement there, depending on the intensity of the game. No doubt the rocking motion will make it a little easier to get up from the thing if you have reclined. However, the lack of arms has convinced me that I would simply slip out of the thing if left to rest for too long. There are also side pockets that you can use to store your peripherals and snacks.
Puma, of course, is a brand of fitness and lifestyle, something that doesn’t cross paths with games so often. The purpose of the chair seems to be one last attempt to improve the posture of the players and prevent bending. The idea is that the Puma Active Gaming Seat positions you in an “active” way, making you move back and forth by your own power, always maintaining the correct posture. This is not, in itself, a bad thing. But also, the guy in the video has a perfect living room right there in his house. How many people who sign up for a Call of Duty in the evening will choose to sit at Gamer Saddle when there is a comfortable couch right there? This is what you face with a product like this. Is it more pleasant to sit on than my extremely comfortable sofa?
I don’t know, gang. I like the spirit of the thing / I think it has the heart in the right place. But I don’t know who it is for either.
