We need to be more radical and speed up tax cuts, says Sajid Javid

Sajid Javid has suggested that income tax cuts should be brought forward to next year to help stimulate the economy.

The health secretary said Rishi Sunak’s plans for a 1p reduction in income tax in 2024 should be accelerated if the economic outlook improves. He said the Conservatives should be more “radical” and focus more on “Conservative issues” after four out of ten Conservative MPs voted to remove the Prime Minister from office.

Javid is the Prime Minister of the Cabinet who made a public call for the reduction of income tax to be brought forward to next year while Boris Johnson tries to strengthen his authority.
