What to know: Fires that burn in Sunol, Benicia, Vacaville, Port Costa or San Mateo Co.

SUNOL, California (KGO) – If you saw thick smoke in the sky Thursday afternoon, you’re not alone. ABC7 News is tracking Scenic Fire, Canyon Fire, Benicia Fire, Timm Fire and Edgewood Fire. This is what we know about several wildfires burning in Port Costa, Crockett, Sunol, Pleasanton, Benicia, Vacaville and San Mateo County or in the vicinity.

Stage fire

East Bay authorities have made “everything clear” in Port Costa after a rapid 108-acre wildfire burned dangerously close to homes.

All evacuation orders have been lifted and firefighters will remain at the scene throughout the night to continue working for total containment. The fire is 50% contained.

According to CAL FIRE, during the height of the fire, the planes at the scene were reporting “erratic behavior.”

Canyon Fire

Officials say progress has been halted in a 71-acre forest fire near Sunol and Pleasanton. The fire, which is contained at 10%, is burning on the ridge between Fremont and Pleasanton, according to firefighters.

In an interview with ABC7 News, a CAL FIRE official said there is a threat to the transmission lines.

All evacuation orders from Kilkare Rd. at Sunol and Golden Eagle Estates in Pleasanton have risen.

CAL FIRE says crews will remain on the scene overnight to continue working for total containment.

Benicia Foc

Progress has been halted in this burning fire near the Valero Refinery.

The Benicia Police Department tweeted the following: “Our citizen security agents are receiving overwhelming reports of the grass fire in Corte Dorado near the Valero refinery. We are aware and @BeniciaFire is on the scene. Yes please follow @BeniciaFire for the latest updates on the situation “.

Benicia City Council tweeted: “Due to the smoke from forest fires, people from sensitive groups such as those suffering from heart or lung disease, the elderly, children and pregnant women should limit prolonged activities to “Keep the doors and windows closed. If you need to cool down, switch to recirculation mode.”

Timm Foc

This burning fire near Vacaville.

According to CAL FIRE, the fire was originally 39 acres, but has since been reduced to 26 acres and is 80% contained. Progress forward has stopped. Firefighters will be in the area for the next few hours working on containing and extinguishing hot spots.

Edgewood fire

CAL FIRE says the 20-acre Edgewood fire in San Mateo County is now at 95% contained. All evacuation orders have been downgraded to fire alarms from six alarms.

PG&E has filed an incident report with the California Public Utilities Commission as a precaution due to numerous media inquiries following this fire.

According to an incident report submitted by PG&E to the California Public Services Commission, CAL FIRE collected PG&E equipment from the Emerald Lake distribution circuit in the vicinity of the Edgewood Fire.

The report says the team was picked up half a mile away from where the fire initially started.

When we contacted PG&E, the spokesman did not directly comment on the incident report and said that in part the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Tesla Fire

CAL FIRE says crews are responding to a wildfire that broke out in the Tesla Road and Corral Hollow Road area in a remote area of ​​Alameda County, 11 miles southeast of Livermore.

Officials say the fire is now about 300 acres with 10% containment.

Firefighters will remain on the scene until Thursday night while working for total containment.
