What did the shooter say on social media?
The 18-year-old gunman, Salvador Ramos, wrote a message saying he was going to shoot his grandmother and another confirming that he had done so.
His final post said he would shoot people in an elementary school.
Her grandmother, whom Ramos shot in the face shortly before attacking Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, survived and called police.

Abbott said the online messages were the only warning, adding that dropping out of high school seemed to have no criminal record or a history of mental health issues.
However, Facebook spokesman Andy Stone said the messages “were one-to-one private text messages that were discovered after the terrible tragedy” and that the media company Meta, which owns Facebook , was cooperating with researchers.
The company did not say who received the messages or which of Meta’s platforms, such as Messenger or Instagram, was used to send them.
What did Democratic nominee Beto O’Rourke say?
The candidate for governor of the state faced Mr. Abbott, saying “This is totally predictable” and “This is for you” before being escorted by security.

Viewers shouted that he was a “sick son of an ab ****” to make it a political issue and told him to “go home.”
O’Rourke, however, told reporters that the “majority” of Texans wanted to do something about guns and armed violence.
“That’s all of us, if we don’t do something. And I’ll do something. I’m not alone. The people of Texas are with us,” he said.
“We could have stopped this, if we had gotten up after Santa Fe High School, if we had gotten up after El Paso, we would have stopped the next one.”
He noted that the Republican governor was scheduled to speak at the NRA convention this Friday in Houston, Texas, and said his “only interest” was the gun lobby.
“He says this was unpredictable. It was totally predictable. And I predict this will continue to happen when you continue to have a governor who will not defend the people of Texas,” O’Rourke said.
What’s the latest on victims?
The shooter barricaded himself in a fourth-grade classroom and killed 19 students and two teachers before a U.S. Border Patrol officer shot him.
The names of the 21 murderers are also being revealed, including 8-year-old Uziyah Garcia, whose grandfather said he was the “sweetest little boy I’ve ever met.”

Vincent Salazar said his 10-year-old daughter, Layla, loved swimming and dancing with Tik Tok videos.
Salazar proudly posted a photo of Layla showing two of the tapes she won on the school field day on Facebook.
Every morning, as he drove her to school in his van, he would play Guns N ‘Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine, and they would sing.
“She was a lot of fun,” he said.
The two murdered teachers were Eva Mireles and Irma Garcia, trapped in the classroom with their students when the shooting began.
“My best friend, my twin was taken out of me,” Mrs. Mireles’ daughter Adalynn Ruiz wrote on Facebook.
“Everyone who knows you knows how outlandish and funny you were, and I’ll miss you forever.”
Another 17 people were reported to have injuries that did not endanger their lives by the attack.
Uvalde Memorial Hospital said 15 of these patients had entered through its doors, and 11 of them were children.
Seven of the children have been discharged and four have been sent to larger hospitals in nearby San Antonio.
The hospital said it had also received two children who were dead on arrival.
