A few months ago, WhatsApp introduced the ability to move entire chat histories from iPhone to Android. Mark Zuckerberg has now announced that from now on transferring WhatsApp data from an Android phone to an iPhone will also be a possibility, and users will also have the option of photos, videos and voice messages when they update their phones.

There are some requirements that must be met in order to achieve this. The Android phone should be running at least Android 5 Lollipop, while the iPhone should be running at least iOS 15.5 for the transfer to work, using the Move to iOS app.

In addition, the Android phone must be running the build number 2.22.7.74 or higher for WhatsApp, while the iOS version should be in the 2.22.10.70 version of the app.

Another crucial step is that the iPhone must be new or must have been factory reset for the Move to iOS app to do its job.

Finally, both phones must be connected to a power source while the transfer is taking place, and they must also be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

The only limitation of this transfer process is that users will not be able to transfer peer-to-peer payment messages or WhatsApp call history.

Here’s how to use the Move to iOS app and transfer your WhatsApp chats from an Android device to an iOS device.

  • Prepare the two new devices by connecting them to a charging socket. Also, make sure that the iOS device you are using is new or has been reset to the factory. Both devices must be on the same WiFi network.
  • Download and launch the Move to iOS app on your Android device, and follow the instructions and instructions until you reach the “Find your code” page.
  • On your iPhone, continue with your device settings as you normally would until you reach the Apps & Data page. On this page, select “Move Android data”.
  • After selecting the Move Android data to your iPhone option, you’ll see a code that you need to enter into your Android phone.
  • Once the code is entered, the two devices are paired. You should now land on the Android Data Transfer screen. Here, select WhatsApp, along with all the other apps and data you want to move.
  • Now tap the “Continue” button on your Android device to start the data migration.
  • Once the transfer is complete, you’ll see the Full Transfer screen on your iPhone. Press the Continue to set up iPhone button to complete the process and prepare your iPhone.
  • When the settings are finally complete, you’ll see a message to download the iOS versions of the apps installed on your Android phone, including WhatsApp. You can also discard it, go to the App Store and download the latest version of WhatsApp and any other app on your iPhone.
  • Once the messaging app is installed, sign in with the same phone number that was linked to your Android phone.
  • After the login process has been managed using the OTP system, press the start button. The app will automatically unpack all the transferred data and show it in the right places, including WhatsApp chat history from your Android device.
