WhatsApp is known to periodically launch new features that help users keep their privacy under control easily. A new update for the instant messaging app now offers a new way to hide your profile picture, status updates, and other information from people.
The new update adds more granular control over who can see information that you may not want everyone to see. In general, you can choose to show your profile picture, last viewed details, and status updates to everyone, all your contacts, or anyone. The new update adds a new “My contacts except …” option here.
With the new option, WhatsApp users can now set up their profile picture, last visit, and other contact information to show to all contacts, except for a select few who won’t be able to see these items despite being contacts.

Everyone: Your last visit, profile picture, information or status will be available to all WhatsApp users.
My contacts: Last visit, profile picture, information, or status will only be available to your contacts from your address book.
My contacts except …: Your last visit, profile picture, envelope, or status will be available to your contacts from your address book, except for the ones you exclude.
no one: Last visit, profile picture, information or status will not be available to anyone.
In other news, WhatsApp has also recently added new features for group calls. These include banner notifications for people joining the call, and the ability to mute and send messages to individuals in the group call.
